In reply to your letter No. D. 368 of the 26th March, 1915, I have the honour to inform you that in connection with the Praya East Reclamation Scheme the Colonial Government agrees to fill in the Camber at the Naval Arsenal Depot and to remove the existing timber pier free of cost to the Naval Author: -ties.

With regard to the request that the Colonial Government should give the Admiralty the first refusal of the areas of the reclamation marked on the plan which accompanied your letter under reply, I am to express the regret of the Colonial Government that since these areas will accrue to the Marine Lotholders in front of whose property they will be re- claimed it is not possible for this Government to assist the Admiralty otherwise than by resuming them at their cost under the provisions of the Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance if the Admiralty should desire the adoption of that method of acquisi- -tion.
